The Foundation: Family is at the center of it all.
My family is the foundation of everything I do as a man, as a therapist and as a speaker and writer. I am a proud husband and father of 5 incredible children, 4 boys and a girl. We love our southern Idaho home along the banks of the scenic snake river. We enjoy water skiing in the summer and snow skiing in the winter and just being together. Home is where our education for everything in life begins and that is why I put such strong emphasis on the value and importance of establishing and maintaining healthy parenting habits and in turn fostering beautiful family relationships.
My Therapy Philosophy.
You are not broken. People don’t come to therapy to be “fixed.” They come to be understood and to gain insight that will help them feel better and do better. They come to reach their goals, dreams and ultimately their full potential. A therapist can offer objective ideas and perspective and may be able to offer tools and strategies that will help you be your best and truly enjoy your life and relationships. I am not an advisor. I rarely tell people what they “should” do, rather I help them see their multitude of choices and options, problem solve the hard stuff and ultimately make the best decisions for them. I utilize therapy models including CBT, EMDR, ACT, DBT, Solutions Focused, Motivational Interviewing, NET, Therapeutic Metaphors, Play Therapy and others in order to customize and best help each unique person meet their specific goals.
My Love of Insight: Speaking, Writing and more.
I absolutely love the “Aha” moments in life. I love those moments when we come to really know what we thought we already knew, when knowledge can finally be put into productive action. I love having these moments myself as well as sharing in others’ light bulb moments. Out of this passion has grown a love for speaking and writing both as an opportunity to encourage insight in my life and to share that wonderful feeling with the world. One of my favorite topics in parenting. I also provide workshops on mental health, relationship, conflict resolution, stress management and self regulation and many other topics. Let me know how I can help you or your organization experience the exciting joy of insight by learning more about my workshops and seminars HERE.
